Fortuna Sittard was formed after a merger between RKSV Sittardia and Fortuna’54 and has been playing under the name Fortuna Sittard since 1968. The club has a rich history and twice won the KNVB Cup. After some difficult times, the club managed to get promoted back to the Eredivisie in 2018 after sixteen seasons. Currently, the club has been active at the highest level in the Netherlands for the sixth consecutive year.
